Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house<\/div>\n
Not a nerd was stirring, not even a mouse.<\/span><\/div>\n
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,<\/span><\/div>\n
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.<\/span><\/div>\n

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,<\/span><\/div>\n
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.<\/span><\/div>\n
And mamma in her \u2018kerchief, and I in my cap,<\/span><\/div>\n
Had just settled our brains for a long winter\u2019s nap.<\/span><\/div>\n

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,<\/span><\/div>\n
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.<\/span><\/div>\n
Away to the window I flew like a flash,<\/span><\/div>\n
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.<\/span><\/div>\n

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow<\/span><\/div>\n
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.<\/span><\/div>\n
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,<\/span><\/div>\n
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.<\/span><\/div>\n

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,<\/span><\/div>\n
I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.<\/span><\/div>\n
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,<\/span><\/div>\n
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!<\/span><\/div>\n

\u00abNow H\u00e9ctor! now, Falange! now, Bote and Protaro!<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
On, Solid! On, Star! on, on Chomplin and Scatha!<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
Now geek away! geek away! geek away all!\u00bb<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
